April 26, 2010 — Spring is finally here, which means Arena Football is underway in Spokane. Theme parks, museums, trails and carnivals also abound in our area. Don't miss out!

Cleveland Gladiators at Spokane Shock
The Spokane Shock, the Inland Northwest's pro football representative, will face the Cleveland Gladiators Saturday, May 1, at 7 p.m. at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. The first 2,500 kids through the door will receive a free Joey meal card courtesy of Outback Steakhouse. Silverwood Opens
The region's largest theme park, Silverwood, opens for the season Saturday, May 1. Save $21.11 on General Admission tickets to the park on May 1-2 during Silverwood's anniversary weekend. Special admission price is $19.88. To view other special promotions the park offers throughout the summer, visit silverwoodthemepark.com. Boulder Beach Water Park is scheduled to open June 5!

North Idaho Museum
Museum of North Idaho in Coeur d'Alene is open for the season from Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., through Oct. 31. The museum is located in front of Coeur d'Alene City Park at 115 NW Blvd. New exhibits include "Nordic Roots Run Deep" which celebrates the immigration of Scandinavians to our region. "Schitsu'umsh, The People Who Were Discovered Here" is about the Coeur d'Alene Tribe. "When the Mountains Roared" educates about the 1910 Fire in the area and "Hydro Fever" reminds viewers of the death-defying hydroplanes that roared around the lake from 1958 to 1968. Trail of the Coeur D' Alenes Bicycle Tour and Dinner
Even beginning bicyclers (ages 8 and over) will enjoy this 10-mile ride on following the tranquil Coeur d'Alene River, passing small lakes and marshes full of waterfowl. The trip will end at the Snake Pit Restaurant in Enaville where you will have a chance to relax and enjoy dinner. The $29 fee includes a tour guide, shuttle service from Post Falls for you and your bike and dinner. Meet at the Post Falls City Hall at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, and be sure to register by May 3 at www.postfallsidaho.org/recreation.

Spring Carnival
Liberty Lake Children's Academy is holding its second annual fundraising carnival on May 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. The carnival will include fun activities for the entire family like a jump castle, face painting, dessert walk, food and prizes.
